Driver Settings

From your EasyRoutes Settings > Driver Settings tab, you can enable real-time driver tracking, configure proof of delivery requirements, and modify behaviour related to how your drivers use the EasyRoutes Delivery Driver mobile app.

Real-time tracking

Real-time tracking: Configure whether real-time tracking data is collected using your drivers' mobile devices while delivering routes.

Ensure this setting is enabled if you want to track your drivers' live GPS location while completing routes. When enabled, driver location can also be shared with customers from your EasyRoutes Settings > Order Tracking tab; locations can also be viewed from the Tracking tab of any live or completed route.

For full details on configuring, viewing, and troubleshooting live driver locations, review this support article: Real-Time Driver Location Tracking

Proof of delivery

Proof of delivery: Require drivers to capture proof of delivery before marking an order as delivered.

Use the checkboxes in this section to configure whether each type of proof of delivery (Photo(s), E-Signature, and/or Driver Note) are required to mark a stop as Completed and/or Attempted.

When enabled, drivers will be prompted to provide the required type of proof of delivery before they can apply the Completed and/or Attempted status to applicable stops.

When disabled, stops can be marked as Completed and/or Attempted without including the specified type(s) of proof of delivery.

For full details on uploading, accessing, and troubleshooting proof of delivery, review this support article: Proof of Delivery (Photos, E-Signature, Notes)

Driver app settings

All of the settings described below apply exclusively to the EasyRoutes Delivery Driver mobile app - i.e. they will not affect user access or display settings when using EasyRoutes to plan, edit, or view routes via a web browser.

Required actions

Required actions: options to require driver to start route before being able to update stops, show "Start Delivery" button, and require driver to add a reason to mark order as attempted
  • Require driver to start route before being able to update stops: Enable this setting to ensure that drivers must start a route before they can apply updates to any stops - particularly useful if you've enabled "Out for Delivery" customer notifications, which are triggered by a route being started. This setting will only be available to enable if the one below it is also enabled.
  • Show "Start Delivery" button: Displays a large button for drivers to tap to indicate they are starting their route.
  • Require driver to add a reason to mark order as attempted: When enabled, drivers will be required to select or input a reason for any stops that are marked as attempted.

Additional driver tools

Additional driver tools: allow driver to re-optimize remaining stops if they deliver out of order, allow driver to reorder stops, allow driver to update custom item quantities, allow driver to upload photos from device for proof of delivery
  • Allow driver to re-optimize remaining stops if they deliver out of order: When enabled, drivers will be permitted to re-optimize the remaining stops on their routes, as soon as they deliver any stop out of the order they were initially optimized in.
  • Allow driver to reorder stops: When enabled, drivers will be permitted to manually re-order stops on their routes whenever desired.
  • Allow driver to update custom item quantities: When enabled, drivers will be able to edit line item quantities for custom and/or imported stops directly from the mobile app
  • Allow driver to upload photos from device for proof of delivery: When enabled, drivers will be able to upload proof of delivery photos from their device gallery - particularly useful when completing routes in low-connectivity situations where photos must be taken on-site and uploaded after re-connecting to a network.

Route expiry

Route Expiry: Select how long shared routes are accessible for when dispatched to drivers. Dispatched routes expire in: selection. This will only apply to routes moving forward.

Select from the dropdown here to determine how long your drivers will have access to routes after they are dispatched to them - 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, or 4 weeks. This setting will apply for any routes dispatched in the future (i.e. it will not affect routes that have been dispatched prior to updating this setting).
