✏️ Route name
EasyRoutes' Route name feature allows users to set a custom naming template for new routes, including dynamic variables that apply to each route, such as assigned driver name or a route's scheduled start date. Note that dynamic route naming is currently not available as an option for existing routes, and must be enabled prior to creating a new route in order to apply.
Enable and configure a naming template from your Route Options page for new routes:
Once enabled, click the + Add fields link, and select from the list of available route variables to add to your name template. Each dynamic variable will display inside {{double braces}} as shown above. Any custom text, including captions or punctuation, can be added between variables for additional clarity. Currently, we only offer the following variables for dynamic route naming:
- Route Number: Includes the route's number, assigned sequentially based on how many routes your account has generated to date.
- Driver Name: Includes the route's assigned driver's full name, as configured in their driver profile. Assign a driver from the How many routes? option in order to populate this variable.
- Planned Start Date: Includes the route's scheduled start date in MM/DD/YYY format by default, unless a different date format has been set for your account. Set a date in the Route scheduling option in order to populate this variable.
If you have any feedback or ideas for dynamic variables that would be useful to your route planning workflows, please get in touch with our team.
As variables and text are added to the template, the live preview below will display what the name of a route created with the current set of route options would be; adjust any other route options as needed to see these changes reflected in the preview.
