How do I create a route using the map?

Use EasyRoutes' map selection tools to plan routes visually, directly on the map. These tools can be used in combination to fine-tune selected orders on the map - for example, you can use the polygon tool to select a large batch of orders to keep on the map, then use the select orders tool to manually select individual orders to remove from this batch before creating a route.

Pro Tip: To give yourself a larger area to work with when visually planning on the map, click the Expand map button within the map controls to increase the display size of the map view. Your active Route Options panel will be relocated below the map until it's sized back down using the Shrink map button.

To start, from the Orders page, ensure that all the orders you'd like to choose from are added as pins to the map:

This can be accomplished in two different ways:

  • Select the checkboxes next to any orders to include and click the "Add orders to map" button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Create a Saved View with filters applied (for example, only orders with a Fulfillment status of Unfulfilled) to automatically add all orders that match those filters to the map, then click into that Saved View's tab from the top of the Orders page.

Use the Select Orders tool to Add:

  1. From the map selection tools on the upper right of the map, ensure the Select Orders mode is active, represented by a cursor and pin icon, highlighted below:

  1. Click the pins of the orders you'd like to add to a new route - their pins will change colour as they're selected, and the total number of stops selected will be displayed on the right-hand side of the map:

  1. Click the Order actions (three dots icon) button next to the number of stops selected, and click the Keep selected orders option:

  1. The map will update to display only the orders that have been selected. Click "Create route" to generate a new route containing these selected orders:

Use the Select Orders tool to Remove:

  1. From the map selection tools on the upper right of the map, ensure the Select Orders mode is active, represented by a cursor and pin icon, highlighted below:

  1. Click the pins of the orders you do not want to include in a new route - their pins will change colour as they're selected, and the total number of stops selected will be displayed on the right-hand side of the map:

  1. Click the Order actions (three dots icon) button next to the number of stops selected, and click the Clear selected orders option:

  1. The map will update to display only the orders that have not been selected. Click "Create route" to generate a new route containing these remaining orders:

Use the Polygon tool to Add:

  1. From the map selection tools on the upper right of the map, click the Polygon tool button:

  1. Click on a series of points on the map to draw a custom shape around the orders you'd like to include in the new route. Once your shape is complete, click the first point drawn to close the shape - any order pins inside the shape will change colour, and the map will indicate how many total pins are selected:

  1. Click the Order actions (three dots icon) button next to the number of orders selected, and click the Keep selected orders option:
