Adding orders or stops to routes

If you've already created some routes and want to add some last-minute orders to them, you can do so a few different ways.

Click either link below for further details specific to the EasyRoutes product you're using:

EasyRoutes for Shopify

Adding orders from inside of a route

When viewing any of your already created routes, click the Add orders tab at the top of the page:

From here, scroll down to see a list of all available orders. Check the boxes next to the orders you'd like to add to your route. When finished, click the Add orders to map button:

Scroll back up to the top of the page and click the Add orders button:

You will be given the option of re-optimizing the route with these new orders included, or simply adding them to the route without re-optimizing.

Adding orders from the Orders page

Check the boxes next to the orders you want to add to an existing route and click the "Add orders to map" button. When you have selected & added all the required orders, scroll back to the top of the page and click the dropdown arrow beside the Create route button at the top of the page. Select Add orders to existing route:

You will then be asked to select a route to add the orders to. Click on the route name to add your orders to that route.

Adding custom stops

If the order you need to add to a route is not a Shopify order, EasyRoutes offers several options for adding custom stops to routes - more details here: How do I add custom stops from outside Shopify?

Adding orders/stops on already started routes

Any of the methods described above can be used to add orders/stops to routes that have already been dispatched to and started by a driver. Depending on your workflows, it's possible that newly added stops will not have the same delivery status as existing stops on the route - for example, if the route's existing stops were all marked as Ready or In Progress when the route was started by the driver, stops added after this status update event will not share this same status automatically and may appear as Preparing instead.

After adding new orders/stops to an already started route, we recommend using the "Mark as" bulk action to update the delivery status for these newly added stops to match the rest of the route's stops.
