How do I create multiple routes?

EasyRoutes allows you to select any number of orders and split them into as many routes as you need. Split orders and auto-assign them to different active drivers, balance item count or item weight between routes, or ensure routes are as balanced as possible in just a few clicks.

The How many routes? option is active at all times, and can be found on the left-hand side of the Route Options page:

Multiple Routes - Unassigned Drivers:

To generate more than one route at a time without having to assign or dispatch them immediately, use the arrow buttons to increase or decrease the number of routes to create (up to 25 at once) within the Create unassigned routes panel. By default, routes created at the same time will have the same Route Options, which can be configured via the settings cards on the right-hand side of the Route Options page. Multiple routes will be created as a Route Group which can be viewed and tracked simultaneously from the same page.

Optional: Select the Set custom options for each individual route setting to enable individual Route Options tabs for each route, using the Route 1 / Route 2 tabs to enable/disable Route Options for each individual route:

Click Save after making any necessary changes to return to the Orders page and begin adding orders to your new routes.

Multiple Routes - Optimize for fewest routes:

Selecting Optimize for fewest routes will generate the minimum number of routes possible, while still taking into account any duration, stop count, item count, or weight limits applied via other Route Options. Ensure at least one of Max route durationMax stops per route, and/or Max items per route is enabled in order to properly calculate any limits of a planned route. All routes planned using this feature will share any other enabled Route Options:

Click Save after making any necessary changes to return to the Orders page and begin adding orders to your new routes.

Multiple Routes - Auto-Assign:

Selecting Create and assign routes to drivers will generate one route for each driver selected via the checkboxes below; once created, these routes will be auto-assigned to the drivers selected. By default, routes created at the same time will have the same Route Options, which can be configured below.

Optional: Select the Set custom options for each individual route setting to enable individual Route Options tabs for each route, labelled according to each driver's name as shown below:

Click Save after making any necessary changes to return to the Orders page and begin adding orders to your new routes.

When auto-assign is enabled for one or more drivers, you'll also unlock the ability to auto-dispatch routes as soon as they're created within the Route Scheduling feature. Full details on how to set up auto-dispatch for your routes can be found in the route dispatch support article.
