How do I scan a product barcode using the mobile app?
Barcodes can currently be scanned via both Driver Tasks and Proof of Delivery notes:
Driver Tasks
If a stop requires a barcode to be scanned in order to mark it as complete, you'll see a prompt to scan a barcode within the Tasks section of a stop in the mobile app:
Tapping the Scan button will launch your mobile device's camera to scan a barcode - tap the Use code button that appears once a barcode is scanned to save this code to the stop's data:
Notes:
- By default, the barcode scanner will capture the first scanned code it encounters. Tap the barcode icon in the upper right-hand corner to switch to "continuous" scan mode, where the scanner will capture the most recent barcode it encounters, overwriting the previously scanned code.
- Tap the flash icon in the upper right-hand corner to activate your mobile device's flash lighting to better capture barcodes in low-light scenarios.
- If for any reason a barcode is not recognized, tap the pencil icon in the barcode input zone - this will allow you to manually input the barcode's value instead.
Proof of Delivery
Drivers can tap the Note button from the Proof of Delivery section for any stop - a barcode scanner icon will appear in the lower right-hand corner of the Add note dialog, which, when tapped, will launch the mobile device's camera to scan any barcodes:
